Retired U.S. Army Sgt. Luis Luce sits with his wife, Analyn Luce, at their home in Watertown, N.Y. May 4, 2020. In early April, Luis was diagnosed with COVID-19. Shortly after, he had to be placed on a ventilator at the Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown due to complications from the virus. Luis was on a ventilator for approximately 10 days before showing signs of improvement and eventually recovered from the virus.
